Film Photography: Advanced


Course Description

Let old-time glory start to shine again. Using legacy 135 cameras to capture your precious memories, then bringing them back in the darkroom. From Nikon F3T to Canon A-1, you can choose to experience any piece of photography history from our vault.

Day One 
The course starts with classic photography theories and learns how to control exposure by adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Then, pick a 135 film camera of your choice to begin your journey.  You will learn how to operate the camera, including loading films and different settings. Our instructor will make sure you master manual focusing and show you the classic rules of compositions. You will shoot the first couple shots in strictly controlled studio lighting with the instructor. Eventually, you can take the camera outside, start to capture the lights with your creativity.

Day Two 

In the second class, you will have hands-on experience in developing your own film. The tools and chemicals we offer are carefully curated and designed in consideration of safety and success rate. We will provide you with everything you need in the process and the instructor will guide you step by step. While waiting for the film to dry off, you will learn about the fun facts of film photography while enjoying a delicious refreshment. Last but not least, the instructor will show you the scanning and editing process to make the photos come to live!

Once you graduated from our advanced course, you will have access to develop your own film in the future!

​All students must be 16 years and older.

​Film cameras will be provided, you are welcome to bring your own.
